Operational Head - Parts, Die & Machinery | Based in Swindon with travel

Field Recruitments client, a trading company within a larger group with a European HQ based in Swindon are now looking to engage with Senior Management candidates from the automotive sector for this Operational Lead role.

This is a Senior management position with full responsibility for the Parts, Die & Machinery operations, with an annual turnover of c250m.

OBJECTIVES
Business Management

- Develop future strategies to maximise operating efficiency in Quality, Cost, Delivery, Management, Safety, Environment (QCDMSE) and business performance.
- Develop new business streams to enhance Parts and Die & Machinery added value.
- Lead the Groups to achieve high standards giving clear direction.
- Develop & implement Company and Group related projects to strengthen the business.

Financial & Business Growth

- Establish & implement overall activities and plans necessary to ensure the achievement of the operation objectives e.g. business plan (long / mid / short term), budget (sales / GP / expenses / operational profit / manpower).
- Develop, maintain and improve successful relationships with our Suppliers and Customers.

Corporate Governance

- Ensure compliance with CG and applicable legislation (procurement, competition, employment, other).
Risk management (AR, AP, contracts, investment).

EXPERIENCE
Candidate Specification:

Skills & Experience

You will typically have a proven track record in a similar management position considering:

- Supply chain flow and its impact on manufacturing operations
- Logistics/import/export processes
- Continuous improvement (operational and strategic)
- Preparation and implementation of a business plan including long-term planning
- Strong commercial awareness including budget preparation, monitoring and review
People management and leadership
- Planning & organising
- Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel to other company sites as required

A background in automotive manufacturing would be an advantage

The ideal candidate will be of degree calibre and able to demonstrate:

- Strong communication, organisation, influencing, negotiation and decision making skills
- Ability to assess situations and develop/implement improvement plans
- Positive, self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible
- Ability to work on own initiative, with minimum supervision
- Lead by example
- Good analytical, numerical and presentation skills
