JOB DESCRIPTION
This is an ideal opportunity if you are a school leaver looking for on-the-job training. You will need to demonstrate your enthusiasm for engineering and a willingness to apply yourself in the work place.
Working initially as an Apprentice Technician, you will be exposed to various aspects of architectural and structural steel works.
You will develop skills in AutoCAD and other software and have the opportunity to undertake day-release education to obtain level 3 diploma in Design and Draughting & BTEC level in Construction and the Built Environment.
If you have no previous experience in this industry you will be expected to complete a 10 Week intensive and specialist training programme that covers the following AutoCAD, Structural Draughting & Detailing, Basic Design Principles, Tekla Structures, Auto Desk Revit.
Apprentices must show commitment to the following:
• To achieve an apprenticeship framework standard
• Attend the apprenticeship induction programme
• Attend all of the training sessions for the programme
• Undertake any other required development work as part of the apprenticeship programme
• Any other duties as deemed appropriate by senior staff
• To complete training assignments and maintain a student portfolio, which will be assessed by an assessor
Apprenticeship start throughout the year and are open to any age of candidate. It is important that qualifications are listed on your application no matter what the grade to ensure you meet the qualification requirements.
