ReachOut is a mentoring charity working with children in deprived areas to raise aspirations and help them grow in character and attainment.
At ReachOut we are looking for dynamic and passionate individuals to join our Leadership Programme. As a Project Leader you will run one of our weekly mentoring projects at either a primary or secondary school, facilitating the 2 hour session along with other responsibilities! The Leadership Programme is an opportunity to have a massive impact on the lives of young people by contributing to their success. You will be challenging them to raise their aspirations, develop their character and overall prepare them to become better people for the future. Are you up for the challenge?
As a Project Leader you will spend 2 hours planning and 2 hours delivering your mentoring session each week during term time for 10-16 young people and their mentors.
Manage and support the young people
Manage and support the volunteer mentors
Attend meetings with school contacts alongside the ReachOut team and provide information to the school when requested by ReachOut.
Complete monitoring and evaluation activities to evaluate project success

You’ll be trained to lead one of our best practice mentoring programmes in a partner school; Club or Academy . As the Project Leader you will plan and deliver one-to-one and group activities for the young people and volunteer mentors, to improve their academic skills and develop character, whilst being fun and engaging!
You will have access to our bank of activities designed to engage young people and develop character. In addition you’ll be trained to deliver our academic curriculum, made up of structured resources for young people to complete with their mentors.

Has worked with groups of young people in the range 9 to 16 years old
Has the potential to take on a leadership role in some capacity
Has planned or contributed to the planning of social events / activities for others to attend
Can demonstrate commitment to a cause / activity and has taken an active role in that (e.g. captain of a sports team, president of a society)
Has professional work experience (e.g. internships, summer placements, etc.) This can include regular voluntary experience but should be positions where you have had responsibility for something, worked to deadlines, worked with others etc.
