JOB DESCRIPTION
English Teacher (278jc) – Saudi Arabia – Good Salary Package

My client, an established training company, with a major long term contract to train the Saudi military in areas of Telecommunications and IT skills are now seeking ten (10) English Teachers to join the project now.

You will be reporting to the Lead English Teacher, and your primary objectives and functions will include:
• To deliver English Language teaching in a way supports students undergoing technician/language training within school.
• To provide a professional standard of teaching consistent with an internationally recognised technical/language training institute.
• To ensure that all materials used are culturally appropriate and relevant to lessons delivered.
• To ensure that all aspects of classroom management requirements are rigorously adhered to as directed by the Lead English Teacher or the Training Delivery Manager.
• The role holder will demonstrate knowledge about recent research in pedagogy in the field of second language acquisition and education.
• The role holder will strictly adhere to all aspects, rules and requirements of working for my client as currently stipulated.
• The role holder will adhere to all requirements of working within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and will at all time show respect for the customs and practices of the Kingdom.

Therefore a summary of your duties and responsibilities will be:
• To deliver English Language teaching to the military students undergoing Technician/Language training.
• To produce Materials to support training in the form of, but not limited to; handouts, presentations and weekly tests.
• To develop lessons and activities that encourage students to become involved in the class, either on own initiative or following direction from the Lead English Teacher.
• To produce and update as required daily lesson plans to reflect course planned delivery.
• To provide advice to the Course Developer as required on an ad hoc basis.
• To complete on a weekly basis the database for all students, to include; weekly test results, discipline issues, performance and remedial measures.
• To liaise with other departments as directed by the Lead English Teacher.
• To provide teaching cover in all areas of the English Language department as directed by the Lead English Teacher.
• To ensure that all aspects of classroom management requirements are rigorously enforced and adhered to, delivering MofNG specified requirements.
• Any other duties commensurate with the position and as directed by the Lead English Teacher or the Training Delivery Manager.

Contact with others (Internally / Externally / Meetings):
• Medium level of external contact with the customer, although ad hoc internal contact with them.
• High level of internal contact with English department colleagues.
• Medium level of internal contact with other departments.
• Regular contact with Training Delivery Manager.
• Frequent contact with Lead English Teacher.
• Ad hoc contact with Training Delivery Manager and other Management team members

Judgement/Decision Making Authority (Specific Responsibilities):
• English Language delivery to military students (including methodology and media selection)
• Class management and reporting within the specified rules.
• Advising on English language developments to TDM, LET, TDD and Course Developer on ad hoc basis.

To be eligible for this role you will need the following Knowledge and Experience:
• Certified in teaching English as a second language; TEFL, CELTA and DELTA with at least 5 years’ experience.
• Experience of working in the Middle East is desirable, as is experience of work within a military environment.
• Must possess an excellent knowledge of instructional methodology and have the skills to exploit new methods and media to encourage learning.
• Must be computer literate and show evidence of using multimedia to provide learning solutions.
• Must provide evidence of class management and reporting.
• Must possess high levels of personal integrity and self-discipline commensurate with the position and must on all occasions and circumstances operate in a professional manner.
• Must be customer focused, endeavouring to ensure that all efforts are applied to ensure the best learning outcomes.
• Must be an active team member committed to delivering first class learning solutions to the customer.
• Must be a native English speaker.
• Must hold a valid driving licence acceptable to the company.

As this role is based in Saudi Arabia, candidates must meet all of the minimum qualifications as they are not bound by UK or EU Laws, also only individuals up to the age of 55 and male will be considered for any of these roles.
