JOB DESCRIPTION
•Replenishment of raw materials in line with company purchasing policies.
•Using reorder strategies and sales forecasts ensure there is always adequate raw material stock to cover production requirements. It is also essential that timely notification and contingency planning is provided in the event of shortages.
•The effective inventory management of raw materials by setting safety stock and reorder levels, establishing lead times, reorder quantities and delivery schedules, in order to satisfy the production requirements and in
•Schedule all inbound deliveries of raw material and produce a Weekly/Daily “Goods Inwards” Delivery Schedule for use by operational staff.
•Monitoring raw material stocks in both the Preston Plant warehouses and third party warehouse and arrange for stock replenishment or transfer.
•Coordinate rail logistics including loco/shunting/railcar provision and control. This will require good liaison with TOTAL Lindsey Oil Refinery, with particular attention to stock levels, volume requirements, ordering of trains, when TLOR are going to be shut down, any breakdowns etc.
•Reconciliation of Third-Party Warehouse monthly invoices by tracking quantities delivered in, transfers out to the plant and area required for storage.
•The update of the SAP System with Road and Rail Goods Receipts, daily production bookings of raw material consumption and finished product production as well Third Party Warehouse receipts and transfers.
•The update and distribution the monthly “Costed Bill of Materials” by inputting up to date raw material price information. In addition produce a commentary to explain the impact of any price changes on the finished products as well as highlighting any cost differential between “replacement” cost and actual costs of stock being used
•Participation with Operations and Engineering in the planning of any scheduled maintenance/project downtime (taking sales strategy into account), to ensure continuity of product supply
•The management of inventory and alternative supply routes during periods of shut down either at Preston due to engineering works or during Refinery T&I’s.
•Assist other members of the Planning Team in all aspects of the planning activities and provide cover during periods of absence.
•Comply with Company Regulations/Standards with particular regard to Heath, Safety, Environmental and Quality Legislation.
